Beautiful hike. Not too rocky not too steep except in few places. We went in January and April. It brown in Jan, green and vibrant in April but no waterfalls or creek either time. It is a 30 mile something trail. We went 4 miles. We have seen plenty of people biking too.

DONT park in the trail parking lot!! Park by the building where it’s as visible as it can be. Your car WILL be broken into if you’re not careful. Got me and my buddy when we were gone for less than an hour!

Violet Crown Trail: 360 Trailhead to 290 Trailhead. I headed to the southwest to 290 Trailhead, but you could also go northeast to Zilker/Barton Springs Trailhead. In the direction of the 290 trailhead, it's a beautiful continuation of the Violet Crown Trail that starts at Zliker. This stretch gets a bit more rocky, narrow, rooty, and mildly dangerous in a few spots, depending on your mobility. One area has chains anchored to the wall for hand holds. I didn't personally find them necessary, but it's good they are there given the nearby drop. Otherwise, it's a lovely, well-shaded and cooler stretch, even in the late morning summer heat.

Great hike with many paths to take. Creek was dry. Not great for strollers, kids or bikers because there’s so many rocks and big roots. Narrow paths as well.
Saw glass on the ground so someone definitely got their windows smashed. Beware of this happening in the area. Happened to us at another hiking area.

Hike is awesome had a great time going through the trails. Everyone was friendly and polite passing one another on the trails. The parking is probably the only thing that bothered me. There was broken auto glass every where made me extremely nervous to leave my vehicle unattended and this wasn't the only place like this either there were othere parks the same way, with warning signs about break-ins. Be mindful of your surroundings and don't leave valuables behind the less they see the less they want to break into your vehicle. Still a great trail and park just some unfortunate stuff going there in the parking area. Stay safe, hydrated and have fun.

Great hike. Just don’t bring your nicest vehicle. Even with tints you could be victim of a break in. Take your valuables with you.

When the riverbed is dry it is a great place to let your furry friend roam. If you get to the climbing wall and go east, the riverbed is pretty easy in most places.

Batron Creek in high summer is normally dry at this access point but thay doenst mean the hiking and nature is bad. The trees keep most of the trails cool and theres plenty of fun wildlife like birds and lizards. The trails can take you for miles!
