TLDR- Shady spot. Avoid. Bad communication.

When we rented the car. The car already had damage and scratches. Upon return they tried to be sleazy and haggle us to blame it upon us. Good thing that we had pictures and videos. The funny thing is that they even noted down the damages before rental but upon return they “lost” the paper. And a new paper had no such damages.

If you are going to deal with places, take extensive documentation, photos and signatures. They speak broken English so they try to get away with plausible deniability. Don’t give them benefit of the doubt.

Also make sure to top up your gas tank and more. They will try to look for every possible area to charge you more.

Our card was charged $400 deposit which we still have not received back. They said we should get it back in a few days. But we are not sure if we will be getting that. Even though agreement was for $216 rental.

Very bad experience at this rental place. Please never rent a car from this business. They are scammers, rude and very unhelpful.
1. They didn't have the car we booked online
2. We had to wait more than 1 hr to pick up the car from the time they said the car would be ready
3. They tried to tell us we damaged the car even though we took a video and photos of the car before we took the car to prove that the damage was pre-existing
4. They try to upsell you on every little addons

This place was ridiculous. I reserved an SUV. I was put in a full-size car because they didn’t have any, but the one that I had reserved and was in the picture with my reservation was sitting right across from the full size car that I was given instead! There were tons of hidden local fees that cost me almost $300 more then what I had already prepaid!

These guys are scammers, rented a minivan and had emphasized to the staff 3-4 times that we needed to drive to Niagara falls and leave it at the airport over there, they have a guy working there that speaks broken english, after it was driven to NF we called them to double check and a different man kept talking over me talking about we didnt say anything even though 3 people told the guy. Avoid this place, I already reported to One King (West) hotel to not third party these scammers anymore.

They are probably going to talk about “we dont tolerate foul language” shut up. You scammed me!

These guys are scammers, incompetent, or both. I left with a vehicle at 7/8th of a tank, and returned it the same. They claimed it was full when I picked up the car. I see an extra $16.95 charge on my credit card by the time I get out of the subway 15 minutes later. I filed a transaction dispute immediately.

And "full coverage" on every other car I've rented in the past decade means exactly that. These guys charge a $1000 deductible!

They made people wait more than an hour for cars when I rented from them the first time, and they offered minimal customer service and updates.

I rarely leave Google reviews, but this experience warranted one. Hopefully people can learn from my (and other people's) experiences with this franchisee.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Dollar Car Rental, and I feel compelled to share my story to prevent others from going through a similar ordeal. As a customer who planned to rent a car for my graduation day, I was shocked and hurt by the rude and mean-spirited behavior exhibited by their staff.

When I visited Dollar Car Rental's website, I was pleased to find information stating that they allow 20-year-olds to rent cars, albeit with an additional fee. Excitedly, I made all the necessary preparations, only to have my plans completely shattered upon arrival.

Upon explaining their own policy to the staff, they not only dismissed me but also demonstrated a complete lack of empathy or understanding. The person I spoke to was incredibly rude and mean, leaving me feeling humiliated and disrespected. To make matters worse, they even hung up on me when I attempted to engage in a civil discussion about their misleading website information.

This experience not only ruined my graduation day but also highlighted Dollar Car Rental's complete disregard for customer service and satisfaction. As a young customer, I expected better treatment and understanding from a company that claims to accommodate my age group. Instead, I was met with hostility and unprofessionalism.

I implore Dollar Car Rental to reevaluate their customer service protocols and educate their staff about proper conduct. Hanging up on customers and dismissing their concerns is simply unacceptable and tarnishes their reputation as a rental company. They should take responsibility for their misleading website information and make amends to those who have been affected.

I love Dollar and have been coming for years and years! Their cars are the best and the customer service is exceptional. It was my first time at the Carton location and the lovely man who helped me was a sweetheart. Thank you for your excellent service. I'll absolutely come back.
