I was in DC for business and the location is great; walkable to everywhere I wanted to see. Starbucks across the street, lots of shopping and restaurants. The room was adequate but not what the pictures show. Very plain and IKEA, but fine and clean. My only complaint is that the room was literally on the street and the garbage trucks back up in front of it every single blasted morning at 0430 with a "bwoop bwoop bwoop". The room was also just off the main foyer so could hear all the conversations of people coming and going, also it was located right under the common kitchen so the stomping of people getting coffee every morning was also loud. I didnt sleep well here. I suggest putting in some bedside lights as well, that was kinda annoying not having lights next to the bed. But if you want a very standard room in a good location, it was a good value, and check in and check out was easy.

We stayed at DuPont Place for 2 nights while we moved our son into college.. I have mixed feelings about this place.. |We stayed in #8.. Although it has a loft where the bed is I still think it's too small for 3 people. The bed & pillows were very uncomfortable . There was no room to put our clothes, no dressers or closet, so we had to live out of a suitcase.. My son slept on the futon the first night & although I did state that he would be with us they still didn't leave pillows for him. There were sheets & a blanket in the footstool but the blanket smelled used. I did contact Charlotte about this & she replied immediately that housekeeping would bring a blanket but no one ever did.|The pros of DuPont Place is location. Walking distance to stores & restaurants. The parking spot was a huge plus. The refrigerator & microwave is also very convenient. The bathroom was clean & modern but the shower is so small that make sure you don't drop the soap. Would only stay here again if they get new beds, futons, pillows & pay attention to details.

We drove to DC and paid for a parking spot during our 8-day stay. A full-sized SUV would likely not be able to navigate the alley or park in the right spaces. The Metro is only a few blocks away, the neighborhood feels safe even at night, quaint restaurants abound, and people are friendly. Prior to our arrival, we received a very informative email travel guide. The directions were excellent. The room had a basket of brochures for the area. The kitchenette even included a vase for flowers, a reusable grocery bag, and coffee/tea. |A few hours prior to our arrival, we received a call from Kevin, telling us that the keypad entry system to our room (#8) was not working and there'd be keys on the table. He encouraged us to let him know if we had questions or needed anything. Upon entering the room, my husband noted a sour smell he suspected was the drain. This smell improved once we used the shower. It's small but nice. After 4 days, I went to the laundry room to get fresh towels and place the used towels in either the washer or a basket. There were clothes in the washer and dryer and no clean towels visible. Since the dryer contained damp linens, I cleaned the filter and restarted it. At this point, I texted Kevin. He said that he would have the housekeeper bring some. Upon removing them a few hours later, I realized they were soured. The clothing previously in the washer was still in the washer. I knew it was the same clothing due to its distinct color. They, too, were soured. My husband felt uncomfortable with moving someone else's clothing. I again texted Kevin. He did not reply. That evening, with no towels, I went to the dryer and pulled out a few minimally soured towels. In the remaining 4 days of our stay, we never received any linens of any kind.

I was at a conference down the street at the Hilton Washington paying several hundred dollars a night, and having to pay for extras like Internet. I went out for lunch one day, and came across the Gallery Inn while walking down the street about two blocks away. Out of curiosity, I stopped in, they said they had a room for $99 with free internet, and I took it. Location was great, seemed a good deal. They were full in the main in, so they offered me a room about a block down. It was fantastic! For that $99, I had clean, comfortable studio apartment, likely 700 square feet, with kitchen attached. The building was older and had the feel of a hostel, a bit, but it was a private entrance, bath, etc. The building had a lot of character, including a raised 13 or 16 foot ceiling, large bay windows, etc.

I have no idea what their other rooms look like - perhaps I just lucked out because they were full elsewhere, but man, at this trip I really enjoyed myself. I was far more comfortable there then the Hilton, a third the price, and very worth it. I'm heading back to DC in the next few days, and have booked there again. Let's see if the experience is as good this time.

My place was just for one person, as you can see in all the pics is exactly what you need to stay in a comfortable way.|The host is amazing, she gives you all the information you need. The neighborhood is crazy awesome, you can find all kind of food : one night my brother told me : I want to try ethiopian food....2 blocks and we found the best in D.C..... except a big supermarket you have everything. The apartament need to have a little more light, mine was at the back and downstairs, is quiet thank God. : )

stayed for 2 nights as a stop on a trip down south. pics looked good, host was pleasant and easy to contact. the troubling items came upon initial inspection of the room, where we noticed dust on several surfaces that we would expect to be clean, such as shelving above sink, top of fan blades, and the air vent in bathroom. the big discovery was the used condom/wrapper we found under the bed. while we did stay in the room as planned, we couldnt trust that the room was properly cleaned/sanitized prior to our visit. sandals in the shower, sleeping above sheets with some type of clothing on. im under no misconception about staying in a hotel, and think i have resonable expectations, but this experience, for me, was subpar.

Lovely neighborhood, clean apartment, comfortable bed, our 8 yr old slept comfortably on the sofabed, helpful staff. The noise from outside disturbed me a couple of times, otherwise a perfect stay. Wish I could rate it 4.75 stars.
