A really helpful team assessed my application and gave detailed feedback. This was very much appreciated. They had clearly read and considered every aspect and made a very fair assessment. Can't wait to take our daughter to winter wonderland using this access card !

I would definitely recommend the access card to all with a disability, particularly an invisible disability, it’s really great for making other aware of you accessibility needs, where ever your going.
The application process is quick & easy. Though there is a small charge of £15 to be aware of, I think it’s well worth the cost.

Didn't read my documents and their assessment reduced what support I could get before my local theatre decided to make their cards mandatory. Assessed me to not need level access. Turned round to partner after his application was denied that if he was that disabled why didn't he have full level of pip causing another MH meltdown. It was almost as degrading as PIP assessments. They should know better!

I used to be able to go to venues on the day and show them my son's blue badge or DLA letter and be able to get reduced disability rate or queue assist. Queue assist was especially good as it meant we still queued theoretically but didn't have to stand in the queue, then all got to go on rides/activities together. As soon as a venue adopts the access card it creates discrimination, as if you don't have one you can no longer turn up on the day and have to plan a couple of weeks in advance to be able to "prove" you are disabled. Also with an access card I now have to pay to prove my son is disabled. Additionally, places that run the Access Card scheme seem to instantly bring further restrictions around queue assist meaning it can only apply to the disabled person +1, which means we can no longer go to places as a family together or I cannot solo parent with two children at this type of place. From my experience the whole scheme is a money maker for the Access Card company and not there to actually benefit the disabled community.
