Ci sono passato per caso ed ho visto subito roba interessante, negozio piccolo ma ben allestito. Il ragazzo con cui ho parlato era molto simpatico e disponibile.

Though the historic shop itself is fantastic, with some great vintage instruments and the junior staff members of the shop are friendly and knowledgeable, the manager of the shop leaves a lot to be desired with his lack of customer service skills. When representing your company you should remain respectful and polite to your customers at all times. The manager is a grey haired man with glasses and Indie styling. I tried out two guitars with a very nice Fender amp and was interrupted several times as I was about to try the guitar I was most interested in. This in itself wasn’t a problem and I was friendly and polite to the other customers, even helping out the teenage customer buying her first guitar, as I am a professional guitarist and have been a tutor for 15 years. The girl had been left to her own devices unable to play anything, so I helped out and showed her how to form a few chords. Her parent/ guardian was thankful for the help and so was the teenage customer, who left with a smile on her face.

No sooner had I got to try the guitar I had waited patiently to play, the manager stormed over and rudely proclaimed “you’ve got 20 more seconds to shred and then I’m going to stop you” as if he was a school teacher telling off a young kid. This sort of treatment is highly inappropriate, but I made light of the situation and played a more melodic piece of music. The manager then stormed over to me and turned off the amplifier and said “right the shows over” and then proceeded to go back to the counter and stand there slagging me off to another staff member. Though I hadn’t planned on purchasing the guitar that day I may have given it some thought and returned to the shop or had it posted to my house. I ended up buying a fairly expensive product and was certainly not a “time waster” customer. Because of this experience I certainly won’t be purchasing any instruments from this shop.

In response to the below reply you have now fabricated details of what happened. I waited elsewhere in the shop for a long time to allow the busy period to die down and my friend to be available to serve me as I had a specific purchase in mind. The comments you made were not in jest and you were not overly busy in that time. I was not shredding at full volume for 30 minutes and did not play the song Lennie. If you had simply asked me to turn down a bit that would have been perfectly acceptable. I briefly had a go on a the previous person had used and played an excerpt from 2 Led Zeppelin songs then someone tried out Brian May Signature guitar. I was apologetic and moved out of the way as I didn’t want to disrupt other people. No sooner had I sat down to try the Strat I wanted, I was moved off by the girl I mentioned which again is absolutely fine. I waited patiently and even helped her to play a bit as previously stated. The lady she was with suggested she let me go on the amp and I said I wasn’t in a hurry and continued to wait. I played a small part of a piece of music by the artist for the signature guitar and the story continues as I previously stated. I played Little wing by Jimi Hendrix, a slow melodic song and began to play part of another melodic Hendrix song. I was still waiting for my friend to serve me at this point and let me try out some pedals with the strat which is similar to mine. There were other more reasonable ways to act if I inadvertently interrupted you working and standing behind the counter loudly talking about me and making sarcastic comments to the young girl is not the way to do it. I have spent 15 years teaching students sometimes in groups where they are making a racket for ages and yes it can be wearing but how you spoke to me and about me within earshot is not ok. I don’t need my ego massaging and was just playing pieces of music appropriate to the instrument.
I would appreciate taking this up with the shop owner not you Shane as your conduct is the problem and I will address the fabricated point you have used to undermine my honest account of how I was treated. I spent £200 in your shop and deserve better.

Went in looking for a specific model which none of the other shops on Denmark St had anything close but Hank's had a couple to choose from. A good bit of negotiation closed the deal. Great selection of instruments from vintage through to affordable.
